Tonight Owen wanted to save a feral cat. After having done just such a thing many times before I'm starting to realize these cats are almost ALWAYS way beyond any help I can give to them. Last summer I had at one point 5 rescues under our roof, way too many btw. So, I told Owen, "no" he was super upset and I had no way of explaining to him that sometimes bad things happen. He couldn't fathom the idea of sometimes getting the short stick...Chip tried to tell him that someone else would be taking care of it but that didn't fly with Owen... I had no words, I feel bad but I'm still not going to save that thing, I KNOW what that entails...next up saving the world!!!
